February 12 – March 31, 2020 at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum

This special temporary exhibit looks at the history of winter sports in the North Peace. From curling to speed skating with unique sports like dogsled racing thrown in, this exhibit looks at our rich sporting history through photographs, artefacts, and stories. Did you know that Fort St. John’s outdoor speed skating oval was once lit with the light of parked cars so a competition could finish in the dark? Come see antique cross-country skis, a 1930s hockey uniform, crazy snow golf photographs, and a figure skating program from Canada’s Centennial.
