Tumbler Ridge Museum

Mission: Together with our community, we dig deeper into our story and engage in discovery.

Vision: Engaging your imagination and inspiring your curiosity.

The Tumbler Ridge Museum collects, researches, archives, and displays over 400 million years of Peace Region history, from early examples of marine life, dinosaurs, and the ice age, to First Nations and Metis, early explorers, mining, and the founding of the town.
The museum’s Dinosaur Discovery Gallery showcases the region’s rich fossil heritage including samples that are unique to Tumbler Ridge. New and exciting discoveries are being made all the time and our Curator works with palaeontologists from around the world to research and publish on our collection. This leads to new displays, programs, and opportunities for everyone to learn about and develop deeper connections to the land on which we live and work.
We offer guided tours to tracksites where dozens of dinosaur footprints can be seen along with skin impressions, other fossils, and geological formations. We offer a variety of STEAM focused programs for all-ages including, field trips, drop-ins, and camps. Visit our website for details and activity calendar.
Our Human History exhibition is centrally located in the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre and is always free. You will be swept away into a barely discovered landscape of wild rivers and lonely mountains and stories of the earliest recorded exploration of the region.
We live and work in the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark, a prestigious designation awarded due to our internationally important geological, palaeontological, and heritage resources. The area is known for its extensive hiking trails and is the waterfall capital of the north.
