Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre
The Board of Trade was the forerunner of the present Peace River Chamber of Commerce. Since the early 1910s the Board of Trade was very active in trying to recruit businesses, entrepreneurs and investors to the Peace River Country. Many promotional materials were developed including this album created in 1933. These albums were for sale at the local drug store, and were often given as gifts to local community and Board of Trade members when they left Peace River. While many contain the same photographs and write-up on the Town, a few photos were added for each individual. The album shows some wonderful candid photos of Peace River and the local area, and some of the community’s major milestones. Reproductions are available for purchase at the Peace River Museum.
