Anne Roberts was the first Registered Nurse stationed in the North Peace region of British Columbia. She came from England in 1930 to work at the Grandhaven Outpost Hospital. Anne married Jim Young and had three children. She served as nurse for twenty-five years and often travelled on horseback to visit patients.
During this time, she delivered between 300-400 babies. Anne made, and embroidered this coverlet with the names of 99 of these babies, their place of birth, and their birthdates.
