Peace River Museum and Archives

Clovis points are fluted lanceolate projectiles with parallel or slightly convex sides and concave base. The size ranges in length from one and half to six inches, but usually longer than three inches. The name for this type of point comes from Clovis, New Mexico, where, at a nearby site, they were first identified. Clovis points have a wide distribution throughout North America and are found in sites as far north as Alaska and the Yukon and as far as Costa Rica to the south. This arrowhead was found near Nampa.
